Here at the Call Back Academy we offer a wide range of courses, that are in-depth, challenging and enjoyable!
The purpose, to make sure that all students who pass through the Academy acquire all of the skills needed to shine in any role.
BACK TO ACTING
The students will work on basic scenes, monologues and introduction to improvisations, this will help to establish the actors style and present which area of development is required.
AUDITION TECHNIQUE
To get the actor ready for modern auditions –preparing a monologue but mainly focusing on improvisation and confidence. Also working on behaviours and how to prepare for meetings and auditions with directors and casting directors.
BECOMING THE ROLE
In depth course on preparing a challenging monologue to push the actor. Using the method, creating history and background of the character leading to the dialogue/scene. Work on the “Here and Now” of the character then looking at the future. The actor must create a vision for the characters future.
SCENE STUDY
Getting the actors to work in a group. This course will teach the actor to be aware of their surroundings, timing, blocking, listening and working in a group.
IMPROVISATION
This course will work on improvisations creating scenes and short films/dramas that will develop over the course, finishing in a performance. This will enhance the actor’s imagination and creativity.
REHEARSALS
This is an open course for the actor to plan for a chosen role, practise for exams, and builds confidence. Working solo.
COMEDY
The actor will learn about timing and delivery of lines, (crucial in comedy), body movement, and facial expressions all of which are very important in this genre. The course will cover scenes from well known comedies, improvisation games and creating scenes – pushing the actor to use their imagination.
DRAMATIC
This course is for all actors but will benefit the actors which tend to follow the comedic route, to challenge and develop their skills. The actor will learn about dramatic timing, pausing and understanding the importance of this, blocking and acting with eyes.
DIRECTING
Giving the students an opportunity to develop their creative, leadership side over a period of 10 weeks. Directing one another on different scenes, each student is given the opportunity to express their own view on scenes.
THEATRE
This course will be for actors who want to pursue a career on stage. Looking at Vocals, blocking, timing and the difference between stage and camera.
